I first met Pixel at the Belmont in Austin. I was attending an event for the Texas Humane Legislation Network and noticed this pint sized flash of brown out of the corner of my eye. It was a Yorkie puppy in this adorable little orange shirt that perfectly matched his mom’s fantastic orange wedge shoes. I was obviously conjuring up all kinds of fun picture ideas in my head and had to introduce myself to this pup named Pixel and his mom, Felicia. I got an email about a month later from Felicia telling me that she was moving from Austin and wanted to schedule a session for Pixel. I was of course elated and I told her she just HAD to wear those shoes and dress Pixel in that orange shirt. Felicia was more than happy to oblige and I had a really great time getting to know Felicia and her Pixel pup. Felicia had just graduated from the University of Texas and so she had the great idea to get some fun shots on campus. I hadn’t been on the UT campus in years. I had some serious college nostalgia as we walked around campus. I had a really wonderful time on this shoot and I wish Pixel and Felicia the best on their new adventures in Virginia.
So now you see where Pixel got his name. Felicia is a Computer Science major. I adore his shirt – “My Mom Can Fix Your Mom’s Computer.”
