Last Saturday was Dogtoberfest at The Domain! This is the 2nd year for Dogtoberfest but you would never know that this is a relatively new Austin dog event. Last year was awesome but this year was AMAZING! Organizers, Julie Strong and Stan Parish really outdid themselves in every way this year. They wanted to make absolutely sure that this event was successful so they could make a real impact on our dog rescue community and boy did they ever!! This year they added some fantastic demos that demonstrated such topics as dog agility, cooking for dogs, caring for dogs and how dogs protect our safety. There were also several new vendors and dog rescue groups in attendance this year. Oh and of course there were loads of ADORABLE dogs in costumes, some of which were just so ridiculously original and cute. The silent auction was also incredible this year and there were loads of fantastic items to bid on. In fact, the Dogtoberfest crew will be at Neiman Marcus this Sunday from 1-3 to meet silent auction winners and sell their super cute Dogtoberfest t-shirts. You should pick up a shirt on Sunday from 1-3; it benefits our local dog rescue groups! You can also continue to donate to Dogtoberfest‘s rescue efforts right here. Thank you Dogtoberfest for putting on a wonderful event for a wonderful cause. Looking forward to next year!!
NOW… onto the pictures!!! I’ve got a few choice shots below, but if you go to this link you can see all of the Dogtoberfest pictures and information on how to order images of your very own!
Little shark muffin won “scariest costume” – LOVE IT!
Sweet adoptable pups waiting for you!
Love the gnome pugs! The pirate crew took the grand prize!
This sweet pup was a “walking vet bill” – ha, ha! There’s Tyler Sieswarda from KVUE announcing the entrants.
I had to throw in this last series. Here’s the Fleming’s cooking helper and taste tester… HA HA!
We owe it all to these two. Say “hi” to Julie Strong and Stan Parish (left). Stan’s mom also helped sell t-shirts – isn’t she cute!!
